DANIEL Jake­way was last Satur­day crowned Ju­nior cham­pion golfer at South­ern­down for 2017.

Dur­ing a well-con­tested 36-hole fi­nal with Mor­gan Grace, he even­tu­ally closed out a 9 & 7 win.

The fol­low­ing day Lewis Phillips and Gareth Stand­ing swept to vic­tory in the Har­vey Cup fi­nal.

And the lat­est Han­ner Ffordd com­pe­ti­tion at South­ern­down was won by G Stephens, who shot a toasty 39 Stable­ford points.

He fin­ished two points in front of A J Vi­gar with Keith James set­tling for par 36 points.

Three play­ers then ex­tracted 35 points out of their rounds – Ian Spence (two on hole five), Ken Davies and Ei­fion Davies – to fin­ish one point in front of Bar­rie Davies.

On the 33-point mark came G Fox, Ray­mond Jones and H J Har­ris.

Mean­while, Julie Davies took an Oc­to­ber medal tour­na­ment, shoot­ing 109-29-80.

Run­ner-up Kath­leen Evans shot 111-28-83 and was fol­lowed on the score­board by Diana Chinn 104-20-84 and Beryl Vaughan 98-14-84 (birdie on hole six and four pars).
