Offensive weapon charge
A MAN has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon after armed police were called to a disturbance.
South Wales Police said Barry John Hyde, 51, from Bridgend, has also been charged with affray.
A spokesman said he has been released on bail and is due to appear before magistrates in Cardiff later this month.
South Wales Police confirmed that armed officers were sent to Osborne Place in Brynmenyn at around 12.25am on Sunday .
Nobody was injured during the incident.
An eyewitness said: “There were around 10 armed police officers, two paramedic Jeeps and a few police vans and cars.”
