School News: Con­grat­u­la­tions to teacher Tom Rus­sell on suc­cess­fully com­plet­ing the Lon­don marathon and rais­ing a mag­nif­i­cent £1237 in the process for the School’s Ob­ser­va­tion Unit Fundrais­ing Project.

Cefn Cribwr Ath­letic Club: thanks to ev­ery­one who took part in their bike ride a few weeks ago, Mike Kelly, from the Club, vis­ited the school re­cently to present a cheque for the £1000 raised for the Ob­ser­va­tion Unit Fund and en­ter­tained the chil­dren with high­lights of the Young Rid­ers rugby sea­son.

Vil­lage Po­lice Ini­tia­tive: Lo­cal po­lice, based at Pyle, have planned the fol­low­ing to en­gage with vil­lage res­i­dents -

A ‘Cuppa with a Cop­per’ ses­sion in the Beth­le­hem Church Life Cen­tre on Tues­day, June 5 at 10am. A great op­por­tu­nity for the peo­ple of Cefn to pop in and see them for a chat and to raise any con­cerns or is­sues they may have.

They will also be at­tend­ing the Young at Heart group in the Green Hall on Fri­day, June 15, where crime pre­ven­tion ad­vice will be given. The South Wales Fire Home Safety Team will also be at­tend­ing to of­fer ad­vice on the home safely checks that they can pro­vide.
