BACK to back wins were the aims for both sides in this Di­vi­sion Six fix­ture be­tween Maesteg 2nds and Am­man­ford 3rds. Maesteg’s An­drew Whe­lan car­ried the bat for his side, fall­ing just short of his cen­tury, end­ing with 91 runs which in­cluded a mag­nif­i­cent thir­teen 4s.

Cap­tain An­drew Jones also found some bat­ting form on his was to 28 runs with four 4s and a 6. Combined with steady bat­ting from the rest of the Maesteg side, as well as 21 ex­tras, Maesteg would reach a tally of 195-4 at the con­clu­sion of their 40 bat­ting in­nings. Their op­po­nents, Am­man­ford would not en­joy as much suc­cess, though would reach a very re­spectable 143, which would fall short on the day, hand­ing Maesteg back to back wins. Maesteg 2nds travel to Llandy­sul next week look­ing to make it three wins in a row.
