DORSET .................118-7 WALES ...................116-7

WALES slid to a threewicket defeat in a Group Four Twenty20 contest last Sunday with Dorset at The Leaze ground in Wimborne, writes Tony Poole.

Captained by former Bridgend Town star Bradley Wadlan, the Welsh side also contained young Bridgend pace man Tomos Jones and Bridgend product Sam Pearce (Pontarddulais).

Wales were put in to bat and early on opening bat Tom Smith (Corsham) and Wadlan both contributed 21.

Callum Taylor ( Newport) went on to make 23 and Pearce 12 with Oscar Kolk (St Fagans) top scor- er in 116-7 via an undefeated 26.

Though Dorset looked in trouble on several occasions when their reply stood on 21-2, 71-5 and 90-6, they made it safely over the finishing line with three deliveries to spare on 118-7.

Pick of the bowling was Torquay pace man Kazi Szymanski with 4-1-123 while Taylor produced 4-0-15-2.

The bowling figures for Tomos Jones read 2-0-150; Pearce 3.3-0-37-1 and new ball man Wadlan 3-0-13-0.
