Chance to have say on Town Hall plans

RES­I­DENTS are being given the chance to view new artist’s im­pres­sions and dis­cuss plans for the re­de­vel­op­ment of Maesteg Town Hall.

Brid­gend County Bor­ough Council and Awen Cul­tural Trust are invit­ing peo­ple to at­tend drop-in ses­sions being held at Unit 10 at Maesteg Out­door Mar­ket on Satur­day, August 18 at 1-4pm, Mon­day, August 20 at 9am-noon and Tuesday, August 21 at 5-8pm.

The trust and mem­bers of the council’s re­gen­er­a­tion, con­ser­va­tion and de­sign teams will be avail­able, along with ar­chi­tects to an­swer ques­tions.

The am­bi­tious project aims to carry out repairs and re­fur­bish­ment that will safe­guard the fu­ture of the 137-year-old build­ing, while pro­vid­ing mod­ern new fa­cil­i­ties de­signed to en­hance its po­si­tion as a cul­tural com­mu­nity venue.

Ex­am­ples of some of the po­ten­tial new fa­cil­i­ties in­clude a glass atrium, com­mu­nity space and ex­hi­bi­tion ar­eas, a her­itage cen­tre, bar, cafe and func­tion fa­cil­i­ties.
