Celebrity of­fers ‘help­ing hand’ to com­mu­nity fur­ni­ture char­ity

RA­DIO pre­sen­ter Lee Jukes has be­come pa­tron of Com­mu­nity Fur­ni­ture Aid.

The Brid­gend-based char­ity fur­nishes homes for peo­ple mov­ing on from home­less­ness or liv­ing in poverty.

The team of vol­un­teers work with peo­ple from across Brid­gend county and sur­round­ing ar­eas and re­lies on do­na­tions of clean house­hold items from mem­bers of the pub­lic to make up packs that con­tain ev­ery­thing needed to start again in a new home.

Lee said: “I’ve come across the work that Com­mu­nity Fur­ni­ture Aid do on a num­ber of oc­ca­sions.

“We live in a world where some­times it can be very dif­fi­cult to make ends meet and to af­ford the ba­sics.

“Some­times we all need a help­ing hand.

“This is where CFA step in with an in­valu­able ser­vice that helps peo­ple to start with the ba­sics they need.

“I urge any­one who can help the team to get in touch. I’m look­ing for­ward to find­ing out more about the work that they do and pro­mot­ing the char­ity in any way that I can.”

The team is based in Pon­ty­cymer and is avail­able to help ev­ery Tues­day to Thurs­day be­tween 10am and 3pm.
