Celebrity offers ‘helping hand’ to community furniture charity
RADIO presenter Lee Jukes has become patron of Community Furniture Aid.
The Bridgend-based charity furnishes homes for people moving on from homelessness or living in poverty.
The team of volunteers work with people from across Bridgend county and surrounding areas and relies on donations of clean household items from members of the public to make up packs that contain everything needed to start again in a new home.
Lee said: “I’ve come across the work that Community Furniture Aid do on a number of occasions.
“We live in a world where sometimes it can be very difficult to make ends meet and to afford the basics.
“Sometimes we all need a helping hand.
“This is where CFA step in with an invaluable service that helps people to start with the basics they need.
“I urge anyone who can help the team to get in touch. I’m looking forward to finding out more about the work that they do and promoting the charity in any way that I can.”
The team is based in Pontycymer and is available to help every Tuesday to Thursday between 10am and 3pm.
If you could benefit from its help or have a donation, call 0759 731 7338. You can also follow Community Furniture Aid on Facebook.
