Choir picked to sing at Wales v South Africa match

KENFIG Hill and Dis­trict Male Voice Choir have been cho­sen to sing at the Wales v South Africa au­tumn in­ter­na­tional in Novem­ber.

Choir mem­bers were de­lighted to find out they have been se­lected and are busy re­hears­ing.

The choir said farewell to out­go­ing mu­si­cal direc­tor Phil Juliff and ac­com­pa­nist Beryl Evans at the an­nual con­cert in July and re­turned to re­hearsals in Septem­ber un­der the di- rec­tion of new MD Joshua Xerri. As well as ser­e­nad­ing the crowds at the Prin­ci­pal­ity Sta­dium on Novem­ber 24, the choir has a packed sea­son ahead with con­certs at Christ­mas, on St David’s Day, two tours away in 2019 and the next an­nual con­cert at the Grand Pav­il­ion next sum­mer.

Mem­bers will also host a Male Voice Choir from Ire­land, per­form a joint con­cert with the Royal Marines Band and sing at an ex­tra con­cert at the Grand Pav­il­ion for the Na­tional Coast Watch.

The choir wel­comes new mem­bers at re­hearsals on Mon­days and Thurs­days at 7-9pm at the Choral Suite, Greenacres Mo­tel, 111 Heol Fach, North Cor­nelly.
