BRID­GEND Hockey Club com­mence life in the fast lane next Satur­day with a home fix­ture against Team Bath Buccs B in The Verde Re­creo League.

Hav­ing ex­pe­ri­enced a sea­son of suc­cess last win­ter in De Cymru & The Marches One – re­sult­ing in pro­mo­tion to Con­fer­ence North – they will test the tem­per­a­ture in el­e­vated com­pany with a new cap­tain.

Goal­keeper Adrian Hib­bert is now at the Hay­wain helm, and he’ll be look­ing for the Ravens to hit the ground run­ning at Pen­coed Com­pre­hen­sive School this Satur­day.

Brid­gend will once more go with four league teams, and the A team un­der the ba­ton of Ni­cholas An­thony will op­er­ate in De Cymru & The Marches Two.

They also com­mence league fix­tures on Satur­day with a trip to the Strat­ford Park Leisure Cen­tre to face Stroud.

The other two sides are mem­bers of the De Cymru di­vi­sions with the Thirds cap­tained by Jon Mur­phy while the Fourth team have Andy Schofield in charge.

Brid­gend Ladies also com­mence league ac­tion on Satur­day with new cap­tain So­phie Evans look­ing to hit the right notes dur­ing an opener in Bre­con.
