Henrikh: I can still improve at United

Glossop Advertiser - - Motors -

HENRIKH Mkhitaryan has vowed to do even better next season after an encouraging first year with United.

The Armenian is enjoying a prolific tour of the States and was named man of the match in the win over City.

Mourinho bought Mkhitaryan to strengthen United’s right flank but the 28-year-old has played on the opposite side, as well as being playmaker and even at full-back on occasion.

“Not yet,” Mkhitaryan replied when asked if Mourinho had specified a certain role for him. “Because I am ready to play wherever he wants me to play. I don’t have a preference in a position. I will try my best if I’m in the middle, on the wing, on the side or up front. It doesn’t matter.

“I am expecting something good because I know you can always do better and better, there is no limit. Last year, with my difficulties, they helped me a lot. I could stay more strong in my mind. I never said that I had hard times here.

“I think I have done everything to work hard, to show everyone I can play and that I can do my best for the team.”

Mkhitaryan made just one start during the opening three-and-ahalf months of last season and is adamant the testing period has improved him.

“I think there is always a place to improve,” he said.

“It doesn’t matter how you did last year. It has been a good year for us, for me as well, because we won three titles.

“But I know for this upcoming season I can do better and better. I’m trying, I’m working hard on myself and I know that I will achieve more.

“In general I can improve.”
