More chances to win in revamped charity lottery
THE Willow Wood Winners weekly lottery has been restructured so that from tomorrow, Friday, September 1, there will be an additional 10 winners every week – that’s over 500 more members of our community who will be receiving a Willow Wood cheque every year!
Diane Austin-Hughes, Willow Wood’s lottery manager, said: “It’s got to be worth just £1 a week to enter.
“Where else would you get the chance to win one of 40 cash prizes each and every week, and to know that your money is going to help local people?
“Those weekly payments really add up and help us to improve the quality of life for so many of our patients and support their families through some difficult times.” l
The Willow Wood Winners first prize will remain at £1,000 and as Diane said: “It’s not a life-changing amount, but it is a great feeling to win it.
“One recent winner used the cash for a ticket to Australia to see family, another to have a new bathroom fitted, and I really love phoning them up each Friday to hear their reaction to the news.”
It’s so easy to join, just go to www.willowwood. info and follow the link on the home page to set up your direct debit, or ring the lottery office on 0161 330 1133.
THE Kids-Com Car Boot Sale is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever!
Yes, Willow Wood is holding another table top sale of anything and everything to do with babies, toddlers and children.
Sunday, September 24 sees this community car boot sale coming to Astley Sports Village, a great location.
Easily accessible, it has free car parking and is big enough to hold up to 60 stalls.
The sale runs from 10am to noon and refreshments will be available.
Chris Hayden, organiser of the event, said: “We all know just how expensive it is to bring up a family, and children shoot up so quickly that clothes and shoes can be barely worn before they’re outgrown.
“Kids-Com Car Boot is a great way to recoup some of your costs – and help the environment by recycling goods at the same time.
“And it’s not just clothes. Pre-loved games, toys, books, DVDs, baby gear – any children’s items – can be bought and sold. It’s private sellers only, we can’t accept traders.”
Pitches are £10 and must be pre-booked, either online at www. kids-com.co.uk, or by telephoning 0161 330 7788.
With entry on the day at just £1 (under 16s are free) it’s a great way to kit out your kids!
