IT’S been another busy week here at Gallery Oldham – amongst the highlights have been choosing new images for the banner at the end of the building; continuing to work on the designs for the new Heritage and Arts Centre; taking the Big Big Camera out on tour; and, of course, welcoming all our family visitors to half-term activities.
Our next event for families will be Super Saturday on Saturday with free artist led activities from 1-3pm.
There’s no need to book, just drop-in.
It’s the same day that the wonderful Reindeer Parade returns to Oldham Town Centre so why not make a day of it?
Our colleagues in the Arts Development team have been working with community groups and the town centre team over the last few weeks to bring this carnival spectacle to life and the offices are currently filling up with costumes and props ready for the big day.
It’s the 20th anniversary of the event and this year’s theme is ‘Christmas Day’ so expect dancing sprouts, a giant Christmas pudding and brass bands.
The parade starts at Parliament Square at 1pm with live music and entertainment until 4pm.
