NICOLAS Otamendi will miss City’s next game at Leicester City.

And that will mean breaking up the centreback partnership with John Stones that has formed the backbone of the Blues in 14 of their record-breaking 15-match winning streak.

Otamendi was booked in the 3-1 win over Arsenal, taking him to five yellow cards for the season and triggering an automatic one-match ban.

But with Vincent Kompany set to return to full training after a two-month absence through injury, Pep Guardiola will have to make a big decision ahead of the trip to the King Power Stadium, where City lost 4-2 last season.

“We are going to find another option, find a solution,” was Guardiola’s only comment – but Eliaquim Mangala is the prime candidate after being on the bench for much of the season so far.

That will concern City fans, as Mangala was declared surplus to requirements in the summer and only remains at the club because a deadline day transfer to Crystal Palace fell through.

Otamendi is now on international duty, with Argentina facing friendlies against Russia and Nigeria, both in Russia.
