TAMESIDE COLLEGE
AGRAPHIC design student at Clarendon Sixth Form College will have her designs published.
Ashton Medical Group, made up of Bedford House, Chapel Street and Tame Valley medical centres, chose Charley Beggs’ designs, for their branding from 10 others, ● created by fellow students as part of their latest project.
Her designs incorporate themes of equality and diversity, community and medicine.
John Lyne, practice manager for Ashton Medical Group, said: “This project showcases the college’s students to employers and universities. They have done even better than I thought they would and they have given us something we didn’t even realise we needed.
“Charley and the runners up especially impressed us with their work and to say that they are only first year students, they have conducted themselves like real professionals. Well done to them.”
Laszlo Gyongyosi, graphic design teacher at Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: “All students seized the opportunities that this live brief gave them. From liaising with clients, producing designs, receiving and responding to feedback as well as ultimately producing the required work, the students performed above and beyond expectations.
“They really took on board the meaning and requirements of the work and created something of high quality. The skills learnt on this project will hold them in good stead for the future.”
Winners and runners up included: Charley Beggs – first place – £150 Love2Shop vouchers; Alex Scanlon – second place – £100 Love2Shop vouchers; Fergus Gray and Kurtis Roberts – joint third place - £50 Love2Shop vouchers each.
