HOLS FAVOURITES FOR MANCUNIANS
DUBAI, Orlando and New York are among Mancunian holidaymakers’ top 10 destina- tions. Manchester Airport has released figures which show the favourite getaways for those living in the 10 Greater Manchester boroughs.
In all, 8.3m passengers from this region jetted off to the 210 destinations served by Manchester.
And for the first time, the airport is also showing how preferences differ across different counties.
Liverpudlians, for example, have Boston, Toronto and Vancouver in their top 10, while Yorkshire’s residents prefer Islamabad, Beijing and Singapore.
Scots opt for trips to Houston, Barbados and Montego Bay while San Francisco and LA feature in the Welsh top 10 list
Here are the top ten hotspots for Greater Manchester passengers:

The airport’s catchment area spans north to Scotland, south to the Midlands, west to Wales and Merseyside, and east across Yorkshire. Overall, the preferences of the masses mirror those of Mancunians – with Dubai, Orlando and New York taking the top spots. But when you drill down to different regions, there are some variations in travel habits.
Manchester Airport bosses have added many long-haul routes to the network in recent years – including Beijing, San Francisco, Boston, Muscat, Houston and Hong Kong to name a few.
Passengers travel both for tourism and for business, with many major tech, life sciences and advanced manufacturing links among them.
