Fresh faces ready for Rovers’ big kick-off

BOURTON Rovers head into their opening Division Two West Hellenic League fixture at Newent Town strengthened by the arrival of new faces.

Forward Steve Nurse has signed from FC Ajax, goalkeeper Simon Flower from Brimscombe and Thrupp and ex-forest Green academy midfielder Ryan Masardo.

They go straight into the squad for the trip to Newent while last season’s leading scorer Josh Fielding returns after a groin injury.

Striker Connor Teague, however, misses out.

Rovers have enjoyed a solid pre season with games against higher league opposition.

Manager Scott Powles has given opportunities to fringe players and new players while confirming his management team.

Thomas Green continues as assistant manager with Tony Inwood as first team coach.
