Ecco may be known for its stylish spikeless shoes, but with its latest creation it has stepped outside the box to bring something very different to the table.

This new cleated model, the Cage Evo (£170), takes the fully integrated Direct-Injection Process (DIP) wrap design from last year’s Cage shoe – a system in which heel-to-toe support increases stability – and combines it with a distinctive new upper that features polyurethane webbing.

This webbing provides an anatomical shape that aligns and moves in unison with the foot for increased flexibility and comfort, with the lightweight uppers also exceptionally water-repellent thanks to Ecco's Hydromax treatment.

Also retained from the original Cage shoe, along with the DIP wrap, are Ecco’s Freedom Fit – which combines a snug heel with a roomier forefoot to let your toes move more naturally – and the low-profile Champ Slim-Lok cleats for increased grip.
