FITTER ANALYSIS Ben has a hybrid he likes, but has never found a fairway he’s got on with. Therefore, he had a big gap he needed to plug with something he could use both off the tee and fairway. He tried and liked the King Utility, but that only carried two yards further than his hybrid, so we switched to the Baffler in a 16.5° setting. It flew 24 yards further, sitting perfectly between his hybrid and driver.
Given I struggle with my 4-iron, I was surprised at how much I liked the King Utility iron. But it just flew too close to my hybrid for the gap I needed to fill, which made it an easy decision to go for the Baffler. I couldn’t believe how easy the sole rails made it to hit, especially out of some nasty lies we set up, so that won me over.
