Golf World (UK) - - The Spin -

What a bril­liant cou­ple of ar­ti­cles you ran in the Jan­uary 2017 is­sue of Golf World – namely the ‘Club Golf of 2040’ and ‘The Club That’s Get­ting It Right, Right Now’.

The ar­ti­cles hit the nail squarely on the head and I think should be used by many clubs as a blue­print when set­ting their own long-term plans and tar­gets.

For far too long many clubs have lived in the Dark Ages, al­most afraid to ac­knowl­edge the changes hap­pen­ing around them in so­ci­ety.

What a great shame it would be if golf con­tin­ued to de­cline and op­por­tu­ni­ties to take up the game be­came even more ex­clu­sive – I am sure that those of us who are gen­uinely pas­sion­ate about the game would love to see it pros­per, and have our fu­ture gen­er­a­tions ex­pe­ri­ence the beauty and ca­ma­raderie that it of­fers, and that orig­i­nally ap­pealed to us.

We owe it to golf to make sure that it stays in a fit shape for the fu­ture – let change for the bet­ter be our legacy.
