It probably hasn’t happened before, but the bottom line is that there isn’t a huge amount to choose between them. There wasn’t a tester in the team who wouldn’t have been smiling if any one of these irons had suddenly found their way into their bags.
In many cases, the differences were more cosmetic and personal rather than performance related. Some launched the ball higher, but only by a few degrees. Some went further, but only by a yard or two.
If there was a longest then it proved to be the Callaway Steelhead XR, which the evidence showed was also the most forgiving. A dominant performance statistically, but not one that was reflected in the personal preferences of the team.
