Golf World (UK) - - The Spin -

Ping G400 driver

The thinner one-piece titanium crown and tungsten weight moves the CG lower and deeper to make it incredibly stable and forgiving. The turbulators are bolder. The forged face is thinner and lighter and the sound and feel has been greatly improved. Web: www.ping. com Price: £389

Ping G400 hybrid

The maraging steel face makes the face 11% thinner, 10% lighter and 35% more flexible. This delivers an extra 2mph of ball speed, a 5% higher flight and five more yards. There’s more weight in the toe in lower lofts to counteract the tendency for better players to hit hybrids a bit left. Available in 17°, 19°, 22°, 26°, 30°. Price: £200

Ping G400 irons

The Eye-Cor Technology has been improved with an elastomer badge, which looks great and dampens vibrations to improve sound and feel. They also feature an undercut toprail to move weight lower in the head. The MOI is 4% greater than their predecessors and they go five yards further. Price: £110 per iron (steel)

Callaway Steelhead XR fairway

The carbon crown weighs only 6g, so the CG is lower and more forward for high launch and low spin. The Hawkeye Sole has been re-contoured to increase its versatility, the Hyper Speed Face Cup delivers fast ball speeds across the face and the Speed Step on the crown reduces drag to boost clubhead speed. Price: £229

Ping G400 fairway

It features many of the same enhancements as the driver. Plus, a maraging steel face that is 28% thinner, 18% lighter and 30% more flexible than its predecessor. The result is 2mph extra ball speed, a higher flight and seven more yards. It is available in 14.5°, 17.5°, 20.5° and 23.5°, plus an SF version in 16°, 19° and 22°. Price: £240

Ping G400 Crossover

It’s much more iron-like than the original with a slimmer profile and silver hydropearl finish. A tungsten toe weight increases forgiveness and the sole goes through the turf much easier. The maraging steel face flexes more to launch the ball 1.5° higher than the original. It’s available in 19°, 22° and 25°. Price: £200

Callaway Epic irons

An Exo-Cage stiffens the head for more efficient energy transfer. The rim of the 360 Face Cup is 1mm at its thinnest point to add ball speed on centre hits and minimise distance loss on off-centre strikes. Every iron is uniquely constructed for the optimum performance. Web: www. callawaygolf.com Price: £1,749

Cleveland RTX-3 Tour Raw wedge

Cleveland has enhanced its range of RTX-3 wedges with a Tour Raw finish that reduces glare and rusts over time. Feel Balancing Tech brings the CG closer to the centre of the face, the Rotex Face and Tour Zip grooves maximise spin, and it’s available in three bounce options. Web: www. clevelandgolf.co.uk Price: £120

Callaway’s Steelhead XR fairway is available in 3+ (13.5°), 3 (15°), 4+ (16°), 5 (18°), 7 (21°), 9 (24°) and Heavenwood (20.5°). Ping’s G400 driver is available in a standard (9°, 10.5°), low-spinning LS Tec (8.5°, 10°) or draw bias SF Tec (10°, 12°) head. The Ping G400 irons have a hydropearl finish that reduces fliers and counterbalanced shafts for more clubhead speed.
