CLUBHEAD OUTSIDE THE HANDS

Golf World (UK) - - McIlroy Exclusive -

says: Rory encourages the club to stay outside his hands a little in the takeaway by keeping the clubface looking at the ball for a fraction of a second longer. The triangle formed by the arms and shoulders move together as the takeaway is powered solely by the chest turning away from the target. The left arm stays straight and the right arm soft as he ‘pushes back’ with the left shoulder and hand to keep the face looking at the ball rather than rotating open.
