COMPLETE BACKSWING BEFORE TRANSITION

Golf World (UK) - - McIlroy Exclusive -

GW says: When the first three feet of the takeaway are working well, Rory can simply turn his shoulders in the second half of the backswing to set the club in a good position at the top. He likes to feel a discernible yet barely visible delay before starting the transition into the downswing. This also helps his sequencing and encourages the downswing to start from the ground up so he can drop the club on the inside and really attack the ball from the inside.
