Golf World (UK) - - THE SPIN -

While I have nothing but admiration for the way Jordan Spieth performed at the Open, greater praise should go to his final-day playing partner, Matt Kuchar.

Despite watching his Open hopes slip from his grasp over those final five holes, Kuchar completed his round with great dignity and grace. We can only speculate on how much the interminable wait on the 13th hole affected him and we will never know the truth. To his credit, Mr Kuchar never grumbled or griped and was professionalism personified throughout a very trying final round. To me, he was the Open’s big winner. M. Burdett, email
