SEQUENCE THE TURN FROM THE GROUND UP

Golf World (UK) - - TOUR TIPS -

Starting the transition with the arms is the first move in a downswing sequence that enables you to create maximum clubhead speed and deliver the club on the correct swing path (slightly from in-to-out) and attack angle (hitting up on the ball). This sequence of rotation starts from the ground up. Your hands should drop about six inches before your hips are the first thing to rotate (not sliding) towards the target. Your upper body and shoulders naturally follow to deliver the club into impact. When you time this right your arms and body move at the maximum speed at the same time through impact – and that’s when you hit it a really long way.
