KEEP YOUR RIGHT HIP HIGH ON THE WAY DOWN
When I favoured a draw off the tee, I noticed that my right hip would drop towards the ground as I started down. That instinctively happens when you try to shallow out your downswing and swing from in to out. Now that I play a slight fade, my hip turn is much flatter, more horizontal to the ground.
Focusing on keeping my right hip high in the transition keeps the club out in front of the body and prevents it from dropping too far behind me. When I can keep the club more in front of me, my swing path shifts a little more to the left, which helps me create that gentle cut spin I’m looking for.
