How to hit a ‘spinny’ chip

If you want to check the ball, you must release the club.

Golf World (UK) - - ADVICE -

We were always told we needed to move the ball back and set our weight forward to hit good chip shots. We now know that maintaining loft on the clubface is the secret to those strikes that spin the ball on the second bounce. Swing with your trail hand only to master the right release.

Play the ball centrally. Set a vertical shaft before swinging back...

…accelerate the club as you return the shaft through vertical at impact…

…and feel like your right palm faces the sky as you release the club.
