‘The master bedroom was the first room we finished,’ says Vanessa. ‘Among the chaos of renovation, it was important to have a calm space to escape to. It remains my favourite room in the house.’

The walls are painted in Old Ochre and the hand-built wardrobes and bedside tables in French Linen, both by Annie Sloan. Vintage ticking bedspreads finish the look.
