LETTING GO... and looking ahead

Following her divorce, Melanie Jones is going to concentrate on her own happiness

Good Housekeeping (UK) - - Real Lives -

‘My husband and I met when we were in our 20s, but as time passed, we became two very different people living totally separate lives – me running my own PR business, and him in the police. For a number of years, we drifted, trying to cling on to what was left of our relationship for the sake of our three children. But we both knew things weren’t right and after being separated for a number of years, we agreed to divorce early last year. Although amicable, the end of my marriage still saddens me. Letting go was a process; utterly draining and full of memories. Throughout it all, though, I clung to the knowledge that I’d made the right decision. I told myself it was time to focus on myself once again; to rest, recharge and look to a bright new future. Life is full of possibilities – my time has come to explore them.

I have plans to discover new people and places, to travel the world and take my children on adventures. I want to expand my business, and I’m moving house. It would be great to have a new look to add to my fresh start. A change in appearance can really boost your mood.’
