Forget skinny lattes, it’s all about adding superfoods to coffee – think turmeric, coconut sugar, maca, chia seeds, protein powder – or drinking ‘bulletproof’ coffee, where milk is replaced with butter and coconut oil or MCT oil. But are these concoctions really that super? Probably not. In fact, the coffee, not the extras, probably gives the greatest health benefits, says GH nutritionist Anita Bean.
