HOROSCOPES

- BY PETER WATSON

SAGITTARIUS 23 Nov – 21 Dec

Others may not agree with your highly original approach to a gettogether or travel plan. But you’ll be inspired by Saturn connecting with Uranus over the holidays. You’ll lose all previous inhibitions that have prevented you from taking chances when planning something that’s meant to be a source of enjoyment. However, you obviously mustn’t squander money or be so impractical that the whole thing becomes a series of problems rather than a joyful experience.

CAPRICORN 22 Dec – 20 Jan

People will turn to you for advice or guidance over petty issues as well as those of a more serious nature. Don’t feel obliged to spend all your time providing support for those who should take better care of themselves. Many extremely trivial matters shouldn’t be brought to your attention. Why not say as much?

AQUARIUS 21 Jan – 19 Feb

Places and situations that are new and different will appeal enormously. But don’t stray out of your comfort zone and, as a result, miss out on something very traditional and reassuring. True, you don’t like to get stuck in a rut. But aren’t there some rituals that you should never give up entirely? Think about it.

PISCES 20 Feb – 20 Mar

Much as you might prefer peace and quiet, you’re drawn towards experiences that, by your standards, seem rowdy and raucous. Instead of resisting, let the New Moon on 29 December help you prove you’re not afraid to try something alternative. You’ll be seen in a new light, which can only be a good thing.

ARIES 21 Mar – 20 Apr

It’s that time of year when, as well as getting together with family and friends, you’ll have to attend to something of a professional or financial nature. But don’t assume it will take up your every waking hour. Deal with the main points quickly and effectively. The rest can wait until well into the new year.

TAURUS 21 Apr – 21 May

Mixing with people from unfamiliar places or settings will broaden your mind. And with the Sun entering Capricorn on 21 December, you’ll begin a phase during which you won’t let anyone or anything force you to remain with whatever is tried and tested. Rarely before have unusual ventures beckoned quite so forcefully.

GEMINI 22 May – 21 Jun

Fairly robust discussions about cash or a lack of it mustn’t be allowed to spoil this lovely time of year. So agree with whoever else is involved that any subject with the potential to stir up trouble should be shelved until the holiday period is over. It’s not about being cowardly. It’s pure common sense.

CANCER 22 Jun – 23 Jul

Although you might dislike arguing with someone special, you’ll find it necessary to debate one particular issue passionately. Things will come to a head around 26 December when Jupiter is opposed by Uranus. Never forget that you don’t have to scream and shout to win the argument. Reason and respect are your allies.

LEO 24 Jul – 23 Aug

Those urging you to deal with mundane responsibilities that have been left untended think they’re advising you well. They can’t realise they’re merely stating the obvious and that you would do as they suggest if it were humanly possible. But for the next week or two it won’t be. You mustn’t worry about it.

VIRGO 24 Aug – 23 Sept

Why deny yourself the right to indulge in creative or romantic pursuits? You’ve accommodated those who have wanted you to remain in charge of something ongoing quite often enough. So, around 28 December, let a Sun-mercury tie-up shift your attitude towards things that make you smile. They’re yours for the taking.

LIBRA 24 Sept – 23 Oct

You’ll obviously want to dedicate yourself to family, friends or your domestic set-up over the next week or two. And anyone who suggests you’re getting your priorities wrong will be speaking out of turn. Rather than show resentment, rise above the sorry situation and behave as though you know nothing about it.

SCORPIO 24 Oct – 22 Nov

Loved ones or friends who have something to hide from you are not to become a source of irritation. They’re merely trying to spring a few pleasant surprises on people such as yourself. With Jupiter allying itself to Venus, you might have to backtrack on one or two critical comments you’ve made. And smile.
