Vernazza, Italy

Grazia (UK) - - Play List -

Sunset is the time to drink in this madefor-instagram seaside village on the Italian Riviera – the hordes of day-trippers have departed, leaving the locals to enjoy their aperitivo in the main square, Piazza Marconi. Here, the open-air cafés with their stunning sea views are framed by the gelato-coloured houses which cling to the cliffs. If you have nerves of steel, you can reach Vernazza by driving along the narrow, vertiginous roads; otherwise take the train from Rome, Pisa or Genoa or a ferry from Genoa and Portofino. For this view, walk the path towards Monterosso and look back.
