The kitchen, part of the open-plan living space, is a great mix of modern materials and retro charm. The white units are topped by a thick polished concrete worktop, the combination repeated in the kitchen island (consciousforms. com). The island was built in-situ as one piece and left to set for a month before being polished. ‘I chose it because I loved the finish of concrete, the tones and the thickness,’ says Caz. The sheen is picked up by the light that floods in through the floor-to-ceiling doors that lead from the living space to the garden. The contemporary look is given a shot of retro style with an old haberdashery cabinet (castlegibson.com) and gold pendant lights from architectural salvage firm Retrouvius (retrouvius. com). The leopard vase is from libertylondon.com.
