the pay gap (9 April) reminds me that as women we have many daily struggles – both personally and professionally. Let’s not allow our pay to continue to be one. The opportunity is now there for change and I am proof of that. Realising that a female colleague earned significantly less than me for doing the same job, I recently raised this with our HR department and manager, citing the Equality Act 2010 as factual backup. It resulted in a pay rise of £10k for my colleague! It’s amazing what you can do when you try.
