IT’S HERE! This week we fi­nally get a look at the next H&M de­signer col­lab. ‘ The col­lab­o­ra­tions are a cel­e­bra­tion of fashion, like a global party that ev­ery­one is in­vited to,’ says H&M’S cre­ative ad­vi­sor Ann-sofie Jo­hans­son. Pick­ing up the ba­ton from Er­dem, this year is the turn of Moschino’s Jeremy Scott. ‘I wanted this to be the real deal, like an ex­tra Moschino col­lec­tion for the sea­son, with the same en­ergy, the same im­pact, the same au­then­tic­ity,’ ex­plains Jeremy, who says he ‘freaked out’ ( in a good way) when H&M ap­proached him. ‘Fashion should be demo­cratic. I don’t think things should get dumbed down when they’re at a lower price point. If any­thing, they should be more fierce.’ Cue: leather dresses, su­per-cropped jack­ets, metal­lic trouser suits and heeled hik­ing boots. Archival touches – like the CD print and brazen gold trompe l’oeil chains – are remixed for now. Sweaters and base­ball shirts em­bla­zoned with Dis­ney char­ac­ters have ‘sell out’ writ­ten all over them. Fun is at the heart of the col­lec­tion – there’s even a logo sweat for your dog. ‘Hu­mour is so much part of what makes Moschino tick,’ says Jeremy. ‘It was so much fun think­ing about the pieces that will make the fans go crazy.’ And crazy they will go – make sure you mark 8 Novem­ber, when the col­lec­tion hits stores, as a key date in your diary.
