Grazia (UK) - - And Finally -

The article ‘Being from the North still holds me back’ (29 October) really resonated. I’m from Glasgow, but have lived in London for seven years. As a chartered surveyor, I work in an environment almost entirely populated by people from London and the Home Counties. Over the years, I’ve experienced so much prejudice against my Scottish background. Comments about my ‘ impossible to understand’ accent and Scotland being ‘ down at heel’ are common. My husband (from New Zealand) even has to listen to it from work mates when he mentions he is visiting my family in Scotland! I hope some people read the feature and reflect on their behaviour. Becca
