THE HEPBURN HOW TO

-

Sophisticated, effortless and timeless, Audrey Hepburn is the beauty icon who still inspires the world’s brow game today. Charlotte shows you how to recreate her classic power brow and flawless base…

THE CLASSIC HEPBURN STYLE ‘Audrey’s look is naturally flattering for everyone, with strong, groomed brows. She took several iconic beauty looks and added her own touches, which are still relevant today: the ’50s Funny Face era with full brows, a feline flick and pillar-box red lips, but also that ’60s iconic Breakfast At Tiffany’s look of soft, taupe smoky eye and feline flick with a nude lip.’

ENHANCE YOUR EYES

‘Audrey’s soft, neutral matte eyeshadow look is super-flattering, wearable and easy to create. Start by using a blender brush to apply a primer shade all over the lids. Next, take an enhancing shade and nestle the brush into the socket of the eye and move it backwards and forwards like a windscreen wiper for definition. Then, using a final darker shade and a smudger brush, run the shadow along the lash line and take it outwards into a soft V. Finish with a soft, brown winged liner to open the eyes. My Luxury Palette in The Sophisticate was inspired by this look with its quartet of matte chocolate, taupe, tan and cream shades.’

BOLD BROWS IN A FLASH

‘Strong defined brows such as Audrey’s can flatter all face and eye shapes, but it’s about working with your own brows. You need yours to work hard for your own face shape, and that is all about symmetry, fullness and sculpting. My Legendary Brows brow gel with its micro-precision brush is the perfect tool for creating flawlessly defined brows in an instant. The sculpt and shade gel coats, shades and grooms every single hair, adding structure and fullness to your brow, without making it look stuck down.’

ACE A FLAWLESS BASE

‘It’s important to finish with a finely milled powder to lock your make-up in place and keep everything from slipping. It also removes any unwanted shine for pictures. I apply powder with a soft sculpting brush on the T-zone – across the forehead, down the nose and on the chin. I always keep cheekbones free of powder, so they remain dewy looking and catch the light. My Airbrush Flawless Finish powder will blur away lines or imperfections to softly mattify and keep everything in place – it’s like the highest thread-count cashmere for your skin. It is also enriched with rose wax and almond oil, so it won’t sit heavy on your skin.’
