The singer of All About That Bass drops it wisely early on her de­but al­bum, leav­ing her to follow in it’s foot­steps with a bar­rage of sim­i­larly sim­ple, doo-wop pop clas­sics. There are a cou­ple of de­viant songs that caught our at­ten­tion – a hint of in­nu­endo bub­bles un­der the sur­face, like the rhyming red her­ring about giv­ing head on Dear Fu­ture Hus­band, and the stand­out tracks are all about get­ting drunk. 3am is about un­wise ex tex­ting to a nurs­ery rhyme melody, and Walka­shame is fairly self­ex­plana­tory. If you’ve got a sweet tooth and like High School Mu­si­cal, this al­bum is a dream. If not...
