Solicitors’ help for local causes
Local legal specialists, Benjamin Roberts Solicitors have been busy since the New Year expanding its business and supporting local causes, choosing Overgate Hospice as their 2014 supported charity. Principal solicitor Graham Roberts says: “Benjamin Roberts has always felt a part of the local community, therefore we are proud to assist Overgate Hospice in any way we can.” Six runners from Benjamin Roberts Solicitors took part in the Overgate Hospice 5km run on April 6. The race brought together local residents and businesses to raise funds and awareness for this great cause. Recently the local firm obtained special dispensation from the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority to take on three trainee solicitors and three new members of staff in order to accommodate a growing clientele. As a result it now supports Polish, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi speaking clients. The company believes investing in and nurturing young talent and hopes by doing so it can help secure the future of the local area. Although specialising in personal injury claims, the firm has extended its operations to include will writing, estate planning and probate registry. The company has benefited from a complete rebranding including a new website which allows clients to start their claims online. Marketing manager Samson Kovacs says: “The legal industry is fiercely competitive and it is no longer pos- sible to sustain competitive advantage by relying on a good reputation. We are now perusing new methods to communicate with our clients, including LinkedIn, which helps us reach new business in a changing legal environment.” The company is looking to link with other Calderdale businesses in order to contribute to the area’s local economy.
