Hike through the night for hos­pice

The sev­enth an­nual Mid­night Walk will take place on Septem­ber 13 to raise money and sup­port for the Over­gate Hos­pice.

Thou­sands of walk­ers turn up ev­ery year to em­bark on a six or 13 mile chal­lenge.

Around 1,000 peo­ple took part in last year’s walk and the or­gan­is­ers are hop­ing to break that record this year.

The team hope to raise as much as pos­si­ble, as the fundrais­ing team have to raise more than £6,900 ev­ery day to keep the Hos­pice open.

En­try is £12 per per­son and ad­mis­sion to the walk in­cludes a t-shirt, a fin­ish­ing medal and a goody bag.

Over­gate Hos­pice pro­vides spe­cial­ist pal­lia­tive care for adults suf­fer­ing from life-lim­it­ing and progressive ill­nesses and is the only adult hos­pice in the Calderdale area.

Reg­is­tra­tion will be open from 10.30pm on the night of the walk and route of the jour­ney will re­main a se­cret un­til that night.
