Fourth -year drama and history groups at Rastrick High School teamed up to raise money for the Evening Courier Bodyscanner Appeal in 1989. They raised £50 when they produced a drama about the Industrial Revolution. The play was shown to their year groups and a collection taken. The pupils presented the cheque to reporter Annette Brooke, front right. Also present was the school’s head of drama Janet Lawton, rear, left. Fundraising events like this raised £500,000 to buy a scanner for the Royal Halifax Infirmary in just 260 days .
