Nutty business opens new shop in market
A businessman has intrigued Borough Market shoppers with his ‘nutty’ new premises. An empty unit in the market has been transformed over two months into a bespoke herbal remedy shop selling organic teas, coffees and supplements.
Speaking at The Nut House’s ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Lisa Lambert, Mayor of Calderdale, said: “It’s fabulous to be invited here today. It’s a beautiful unit which has been very well designed and crafted.
“I think for the market it’s going to be brilliant. A new busiess like this which is so different will attract other businesses and shoppers.” The opening of the unit follows the success of its sister shop of the same name, an organic bar and tea room in Silver Street.
Owner Eduardo Shahsavar is originally from Persia, and said he was inspired by his grandmother, a herbalist who lived until she was 105.
Mr Shahsavar said: “My grandmother and mother and now me are in a position of lifetime research and cannot let our knowledge be wasted.
“So I have collected hundreds of herbs from around the world which are proven to have health benefits.”
The Nut House is officially open!
