Poet’s Corner

10 Years

Halifax Courier - - This Week In Court -

“For Cancer the chapter is finally closed.” A headline that will come one day I suppose. How long will it take? Nobody knows. But as it goes the funding for the research rose to almost double in 10 years. Another decade and we could see the tears of loved ones disappear and the fears just melt away. I don’t want hope to fade. We still need to persuade it that it’s had its day. Cancer, let’s not play games it’s time to decay. You’ve caused enough destruction. I’m not asking you, it’s an instruction. Let our bodies do their bodily functions and admit that the headline above isn’t a presumption. Every story has a beginning, middle and end. I won’t pretend I am not going to enjoy spending my time reading the last paragraph of yours.
