Firm cel­e­brates new growth and ex­tra staff

In­de­pen­dent pay­ments provider York­shire Pay­ments has in­creased its of­fice space by 30 per cent and ap­pointed two new staff. The new of­fice will pro­vide ad­di­tional desk space and house the firm’s Tech Lab, where all of its fi­nan­cial tech­nol­ogy so­lu­tions are pro­cessed.

The ex­pan­sion comes just five months af­ter the firm re­lo­cated to pur­pose-built of­fices in Thorn­hill Brigg Mills, Brig­house, hav­ing out­grown its pre­vi­ous lo­ca­tion.

The busi­ness has ex­pe­ri­enced year on year growth since it launched four years ago and is on track to dou­ble turnover this year. 500 new cus­tomers have signed up to York­shire Pay­ments’ mer­chant ser­vices in the past five months.

Fur­ther re­cent suc­cesses in­clude se­cur­ing two ma­jor bank­ing deals with cor­po­rate fi­nance gi­ant Global Pay­ments and AIB Mer­chant Ser­vices, which will al­low York­shire Pay­ments to pro­vide world class mer­chant ser­vices to cus­tomers across York­shire and be­yond.

Two new tele-ap­point­ers, Emma Lumb and Harry John- stone, have also been re­cruited who will be re­spon­si­ble for gen­er­at­ing new busi­ness.

Mean­while, ap­pren­tice So­phie Wil­liams, who joined the com­pany at the end of 2013 has now com­pleted her Level 2 NVQ ap­pren­tice­ship in Busi- ness and Ad­min­is­tra­tion.

She is cur­rently wrap­ping up her Level 3 ap­pren­tice­ship in Cus­tomer Ser­vice.
