Hamilton step right up to the highest level

Bulls reach President’s Conference

Hamilton have attained the highest level of youth rugby in Scotland after being admitted into the President’s Conference for next season.

The young Bulls won the Club Youth Green Conference (combined points at all youth rugby age groups from u13-18) with a round of games to spare, and the under-15s also clinched their league.

With the 2nd XV staying in Premier 1, that means the Laigh Bent club have two of their sides competing at the pinnacle of Scottish rugby.

Hamilton celebrated their success and were joined by MSP Christina Mckelvie, MP Margaret Ferrier, Councillor John Ross, and Glasgow Warriors players Adam Ashe and Grayson Hart.

Youth convenor David Vickers said: “This is a fantastic achievemen­t by everyone involves with our phenomenal youth section.

“The dedication and commitment by our volunteer coaches and players over this and previous seasons has paid off.

“Playing in the President’s Conference next season will bring new tests to everyone, but it is these challenges that will ensure we continue to grow.”
