New chairman

Arlene Green was elected as new chairperson and Hazel Krawczyk as vice-chair at the AGM of Blantyre Community Committee. This follows Paul Veverka’s decision to resign as chair. Other elected officials are unchanged, with treasurer Caroline Lee, secretary Rose Lee and committee members Aimee Glen, Chloe Glen, Paul Veverka and Stephen Mcdade.

Rose Lee said: “Paul is still very much with the committee, just no longer our chairman.

“However, he will still very much be involved with the town Gala weekend and Christmas event.

“We’d like to thank Paul for all of hard work over the last few years. We all look forward to continuing to have him as part of the team.”
