Gala fun in the sun

-

The sun was shining as Glassford came together on Gala Day.

The colourful parade through the streets kicked off the event with children and adults alike having fun.

Glassford Primary School pupil and Gala Queen Mia Kennedy was the crowning jewel of the parade through the village.

Locals then flocked to the primary school for events including a magician and a petting zoo.

Gala committee secretary Anne Anderson says they are already looking forward to next year after a brilliant day.

“The feedback we have had from the day so far has been fantastic,”she said.

“We wanted to make it a fun day but low cost for parents, so the kids could just concentrate on enjoying themselves and that seems to have taken the stress off everyone.

“We are a new committee and are still learning but we already have a few ideas for next year.”
