£3460 for community groups
Community groups received a cash boost when the latest round of South Lanarkshire Council grants were approved.
In a paper put before councillors at an East Kilbride area committee meeting, 15 organisations enjoyed a windfall totalling £3460 on top of £9580 previously allocated.
It means that out of the £25,000 available to community groups for 2017/18, there is still £11,960 left in the pot.
The groups to be awarded grants included:
Strathaven Rainbow Social Club, £350 for specialist transport;
Glassford Church Women’s Guild, £130 for outing;
Chapelton Silver Circle, £200 for outing;
Strathaven and District Probus Club, £200 for outing.
