Lanarkshire Philatelic Society met on Friday evening in Hamilton for a special talk.
Member Ken Norris has never missed an evening in the group’s 50-year history.
And he entertained his audience with a display about British writers.
A club spokesperson said: “He gave a wonderful display of stamps, covers, meter marks, cachets and postcards all relating, in alphabetical order, to authors and their writings in books, poetry and comics.”
Authors who featured in the talk included the Brontës, JM Barrie, Robert Burns, Geoffrey Chaucer, Agatha Christie, Roald Dahl, Daniel Defoe, Elizabeth Gaskell and Daphne du Maurier.
Elsie Miller led fellow members in thanking Mr Norris for “an educational display”.
The society’s next meeting will in the Caledonian Bowling Club, Motherwell Road, Hamilton, on Friday, October 13, at 7.30pm.
Members will give their displays on the theme of ‘Golden’. Anyone with an interest in stamps, postal history or postcards is very welcome to attend.
