So­cial club’s bril­liant ef­fort for Macmil­lan

Ud­ston so­cial club were de­lighted to present a cheque for £2300 to lo­cal Macmil­lan Cancer Sup­port.

The club hosted a prize bingo even­ing and an en­ter­tain­ment af­ter­noon which sold over 100 tick­ets.

And over a dozen singers came along on the day and en­ter­tained a jam-packed hall.

Or­gan­iser Lor­raine Maxwell said that the events were a great suc­cess.

She said: “We would just like to thank ev­ery­one for com­ing along and rais­ing a fan­tas­tic amount for a won­der­ful char­ity.

“We de­cided to do­nate the money to the lo­cal Macmil­lan nurses for all the hard work they do within our com­mu­nity.

“A huge thanks to Mark Mul­grew and EM KAY en­ter­tain­ment for or­gan­is­ing the singers on the night.

“And also a huge thanks to all the lo­cal shops and peo­ple who do­nated prizes for the bingo and to ev­ery­one who came out to sup­port the cause.

“We man­aged to raise £2300, which is more than we col­lected last year which is great.”

She added: “We are al­ready started to look at or­gan­is­ing the event for next year for Macmil­lan as it is a great cause that we will con­tinue to sup­port.”
