Social club’s brilliant effort for Macmillan
Udston social club were delighted to present a cheque for £2300 to local Macmillan Cancer Support.
The club hosted a prize bingo evening and an entertainment afternoon which sold over 100 tickets.
And over a dozen singers came along on the day and entertained a jam-packed hall.
Organiser Lorraine Maxwell said that the events were a great success.
She said: “We would just like to thank everyone for coming along and raising a fantastic amount for a wonderful charity.
“We decided to donate the money to the local Macmillan nurses for all the hard work they do within our community.
“A huge thanks to Mark Mulgrew and EM KAY entertainment for organising the singers on the night.
“And also a huge thanks to all the local shops and people who donated prizes for the bingo and to everyone who came out to support the cause.
“We managed to raise £2300, which is more than we collected last year which is great.”
She added: “We are already started to look at organising the event for next year for Macmillan as it is a great cause that we will continue to support.”
